Hard to beat for the price. I was looking for a compact system that would fit unobtrusively into our living room and this filled the bill perfectly. Very good sound quality from such small speakers. The wireless back channel speakers are nice as well but do be aware that there is a small receiver unit that goes with the back speakers so you will have to find a place and power for it...but no other connection to the receiver is required...great if running in a room not pre-wired for surround sound. Easy on-screen set up...very good remote...wireless connection to our router was a snap and it streams Pandora and Netflix like a champ. Blu-Ray player loads quickly and adjusts well to different disk types. Could not be happier considering this whole system costs a fraction of component media room systems.

So far, wow. It's a super awesome system!

Easy to set up, beautifully-designed, and packs quite a punch for a system costing less than a nickel! I'm a bit underwhelmed with the browser functionality (websites render their mobile versions) and the lack of a qwerty keyboard with the remote.

Otherwise, it's a great system. I'm not a techie but set-up and calibration was a snap. My wife's already great at setting up the music, downloading movies, etc.

Take my word for it - it's a great buy!

I usually don't write reviews but I felt like I had to for this product. This system is more than I could ever imagine. I am a first time buyer of a product like this and I would recommend it to anyone. Set up was very easy, all you have to do is match the color coordinated wires with the correct speaker. Initial set up was also a breeze. I have a decent sized home and when you turn this system on you can hear the music throughout the house, which I think is very awesome. Bass is great also. When using it with a movie you can hear things that you never heard before and you've watch the movie a thousand times. And best of all the price was unbeatable!!! If anyone is thinking of purchasing this product I would say......Just do it, you won't regret it!!

Very nice HT for the money. There are better system out there for larger rooms but for an average sized family/TV room this system will do a very solid job of creating theater sound effects. Picture is crystal clear 1080p and 3d works great.

The Fm radio is clear and has 30 stations you can program into it. Amazon delivered fast. If you want to also hook up other speakers note that the system runs on 3 ohms so although the sound is clean other/additonal speaker options might be a bit limited...It's a great system for a family room and it plays loud and clear with little or no distortion of the sound.

I am reading the reviews here about the so-called experts in the 7.1 technology. I am NOT an audio buff, just someone who can read. If you see this review ([...]) from the experts, you will the following:

"Readers who are good at counting will have noticed that this 7.1-channel system has only 5.1 speakers. The extra two channels are not back surrounds. Instead, front-height channels are built into the front left and right towers. The full-range height drivers can be tilted to face forward, directly at the listener, or upward, firing over the listener's head (I chose the latter to maximize the height effects)."

This came from [...] where is actually has 55 total reviews with 4.5+ rating. I will update this review once I buy it today.

Although I like detailed, long reviews, I am not a techie, so i will just tell you my experience with this system. It works great, we have had it several months with no problems, and enjoy it every week. We are just regular movie watchers, with a basic home theatre setup, of all ages, some who hear better than others, and this system suits all of us. I would recommend this to anyone who just wants a basic surround sound setup.

Just had this a few days but am really loving it. Took a little while to set it up, and was a little confused about audio return, but worked it all out and it sounds great. I reprogrammed my Logitech Harmony 300 remote to work with it (didn't see the HT S3400 listed but used the settings for the HT3300 and it worked fine) and I'm able to control my tv, cable box, dvd player and the onkyo with the one remote. For the price its unbelievable.

I've only had the system for a few days but so far everything seems to be doing great. Really easy to set up and it sounds great. I did buy larger gauge speaker wire. Comes with what looks to be 18or 20 gauge, went with 14 gauge. All components are going through the receiver and the picture quality is really good. All in all, this is a really good starting point for a first time home theater system user.

Review:

This is a great sound system. The cords were more than long enough and we have a larger sized living room. It's got really good bass and it scares our dogs sometimes because it shakes the house. It's got fully customizable sound so you can turn it up or down when ever you want. The blu-ray is great too. It loads a 1.5 tb hard drive no problem. Of course it has to be formatted to NTFS or Fat32 so Mac users make sure you have a windows computer available. I've tried avi, mkv, mov, mp4 and wmv and they all work perfectly. My tv wouldn't play half of those so it was a big improvement and it took forever for my tv to load the hard drive. All in all this is great for a budget home theater system.
